The successful candidate will co-lead a research group on the Evaluation Health Care. This position will focus on research that incorporates equity considerations in healthcare evaluations. Part of this research agenda may consider (but is not excluded to) i) the impact evaluation of distributional consequences of healthcare interventions (e.g. inter-individual differences in uptake and effectiveness), ii) welfare economics assessments of the resulting distribution of health, iii) the elicitation of social preferences of health distributions, and iv) the development and use of optimal allocation rules for distribution-sensitive social planners.

The position will be part of the Evaluation of Health Care research line of Smarter Choices for Better Health, a flagship multidisciplinary research program the Erasmus School of Economics, the Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management and the Erasmus Medical Centre. This research line involves dr. Raf Van Gestel, prof. Tom Van Ourti, dr. Jorien Veldwijk, MSc Samare Huls and prof. Esther de Bekker-Grob.

The appointment will be to the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a reduced teaching load for a period of 3 years at the Erasmus School of Economics

The successful candidate should have strong quantitative skills, an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, and a demonstrated interest in Health and/or Welfare Economics. A PhD in Economics, Econometrics, or a closely related quantitative discipline, is required. The ability to lead and write up research work for publication in high profile journals (reflected either by papers published or promising unpublished research papers) and engage in public dissemination of results is essential

The position will be embedded in the Erasmus Centre for Health Economics Rotterdam (EsCHER) which bundles health economics research at the Erasmus School of Economics and the Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management.
