Assistant Professors (Experimental) Clinical Psychology (1.6 FTE)

We invite applicants for two temporary (2 years) assistant professor positions in Experimental Psychopathology / Clinical Psychology.

The vacancies are at the chair group of Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychopathology and involve 75 % teaching and 25% research. This chair group contributes to the bachelor's of Psychology and is responsible for the master tracks:
• The Dutch and English language Clinical Psychology tracks
• and the Clinical Forensic Psychology and Victimology track

A major component of the teaching duties will be on research-related courses and supervising master thesis research within these master tracks.

Depending on the candidate’s profile, there are also options to be involved as a coordinator or lecturer in courses at both the bachelor’s and master’s level.

Research of this chair group is embedded in the Dutch-Flemish research school 'Experimental Psychopathology' and follows a transdiagnostic and interdisciplinary approach with a current emphasis on cognitive-motivational processes and emotion (dys)regulation in a variety of disorders including
• anxiety(related) disorders
• eating disorders
• psychotic disorders
• depression
• dissociative identity disorders
• addiction
• sleep-related problems, and
• sexual dysfunctions.

The research programme participates in several large scale longitudinal projects such as the Netherlands Study on Depression and Anxiety (NESDA), and has numerous research collaborations with clinical sites such as:
• the in- and outpatient clinic GGZ-Drenthe (e.g., section psychotic disorders)
• the Academic Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry ACCARE (e.g., anxiety, eating disorders)
• the University Psychiatric Center (e.g., section Anxiety and OCD), and
• the Center for Addiction (Verslavingszorg Noord-Nederland).

The candidate is expected to contribute to the research programme either by pursuing her/his own line of research or to team up with colleagues to get engaged in collaborative efforts.

• university graduate
• PhD in a relevant research domain
• publication record in international journals
• experience and interest in teaching
• command of the English language
• command of the Dutch language would be welcome but is not critical
• therapeutic experience in a clinical setting would be welcome.

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
• a salary depending on qualifications and work experience starting with € 3,637 (scale 10) to a maximum of € 5,656 (scale 12) gross per month, based on full employment
• secondary benefits, based on the Collective Employment Agreement of the Dutch Universities, are excellent in general and include e.g. a pension scheme, flexible employment conditions and salaries are supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and end-of-year bonus of 8.3% per year.

The 0.8 FTE appointment is temporary for a specified period of two years.
