The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry/Psychology (CAPP) offers a position as post-doc to initiate collaboration with others in the Erasmus MC-Sophia Children's Hospital in the field of perinatal imaging, among others with the departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Neonatology (0.6 fte).

Additionally, the post-doc is involved in SHARING (Systematic Hospital-based Assessment of Rotterdam's critically Ill infants, their Neurodevelopment and Growth; 0.2 fte). SHARING is a longitudinal study addressing the neurodevelopmental trajectories following neonatal critical illness, from the perinatal period to school-age, and to compare these with trajectories of healthy controls. This insight may lead to the identification of early biomarkers of long-term memory deficits in survivors of neonatal critical illness that might improve early identification and treatment of survivors at risk of school problems later in life. SHARING is a collaboration between the departments Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatology

• You have a PhD in Neuroscience, preferably with a focus on neuroimaging.
• Affinity with a pediatric population is important, and a good command (oral and written) of English is required. A good command of Dutch is an advantage.
• Writing skills must be excellent and experience with different neuro-imaging methods and processing pipelines, programming (i.e. R, Matlab, python or C) and (multivariate) statistics is mandatory.
• You should have a high level of motivation and commitment to produce accurate and high-quality work and have excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
• It is important that you are able to work both independently and within a team.
• Finally, experience with supervision of bachelor or master students is an advantage.

The position will be temporary, initially for 0.5 year, with the intention to extend to 2 years. The maximum gross monthly salary is € 4.615,- (scale 10) based on a workweek of 36 hours. The terms of employment are according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Dutch University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).

The department of CAPP is the only independent department for child and adolescent psychiatry and psychology in the Netherlands that is integrated within a university medical center. Research in the department of CAPP department focuses on general population samples and clinical epidemiology (in populations at risk for severe mental illness, psychiatrically ill children and adolescence as well as somatically ill youth with psychiatric or psychological problems). CAPP is part of the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences (NIHES). The department is leading in Europe as far as standardized diagnostic assessment procedures are concerned and is internationally one of the strongest centers conducting etiological epidemiological research in the field of child psychopathology. The department of CAPP brings together clinical services, research, education and training to offer care and treatment, based upon reliable research evidence. The department of CAPP has extensive collaborations with the departments of Neuroscience, Clinical Genetics, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Neurology.

The department of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care is one of the departments within the Erasmus MC Sophia Children's Hospital, which is focused on congenital anatomical malformations and critical Ill neonates and children. The department is coordinator of ERNICA, the European Reference Network for Inherited and Congenital Anomalies, which involves international multicenter studies. The department is leading in structural follow-up for patients with a congenital anatomical anomaly and critical ill children since more then 20 years and has a research program on neuromonitoring. SHARING is one of the projects in this program.
