DataHub Maastricht provides various services related to data management in (medical) research. We are a cross-organisational community within Maastricht UMC+ and work on data management solutions for researchers from both the academic hospital (MUMC+) and the university (UM). DataHub develops and manages an institutional repository for research data and enables researchers to store and retrieve scientific data in a sustainable way.

Job description

Function description
DataHub Maastricht is looking for an energetic frontend developer who is excited by the challenge of improving user experience for our services. As a frontend developer you will be positioned in our Agile Scrum team, and you will work in close collaboration with UM and MUMC+ central IT-services.

 Major duties:

  • Create a coherent user experience for the DataHub services;
  • Work as a member of our Agile Scrum team to achieve our sprint goals;
  • Support the product owner with creating mock-ups for stakeholders.

Requirements

Your Profile:
We require:

  • A BSc in Communication and Multimedia design or equivalent;
  • Comfortable with HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
  • Experience with graphic design (e.g. Adobe Illustrator);
  • Working proficiency in English.

Experience in these areas is appreciated:

  • Software versioncontrol (git)
  • Working in an Agile Scrum team
  • Tools like React.js, AngularJS, Ember.js, Vue.js, GraphQL, Typescript etc.
  • Programming in Java, PHP, Python or other relevant languages

Before employment, a certificate of good conduct (VOG) is required.

Conditions of employment

Our offer
We offer a temporary contract of 1 year (24 - 40 hours per week, discussable with the option to get a permanent contract thereafter.
Remuneration will be according to standard salary levels, depending on education and relevant work experience, in salary scale 8 or 9 (between € 2.710 and € 4.093 gross per month, based on a fulltime appointment) according to the collective labour agreement (CAO) of Dutch Universities, including 8% holiday pay and an 8,3% end of year payment. A preliminary scale might apply in case the suitable candidate has yet to develop certain professional skills.
