The Clinical Psychology team at the Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam is looking for a lecturer to strengthen our team in our education program (course coordination, practicals, thesis supervision).

Job description

The core tasks include:

  • Teaching a given set of courses and/or practicals in a field of expertise;
  • Testing whether learning objectives are being met;
  • Updating content for this set of courses and/or practicals;
  • Co-coordinating certain courses and/or practicals;
  • Evaluating and grading student products, as corrector under the supervision of an examiner as long as the UTQ has not been completed;
  • Organizing calibration sessions to come to an effective evaluation format
  • Grading assignments;
  • Supervising bachelor and master thesis students;
  • Being involved in other professional development activities;
  • Contributing to a team or a learning line (Dutch: Leerlijn).

Although it is expected that – at least in the first years of the new policy – the position of teacher will predominantly be used for internal candidates who do not yet meet the requirements to be promoted to the position of senior lecturer, it is of course also possible to use this profile for a temporary position as teacher.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague (m/f/x) who:

  • has a MSc degree in a topic relevant to clinical psychology;
  • has experience with teaching bachelor and master programmes on clinical psychology or related areas;
  • has experiences teaching both courses and (clinical) practicals;
  • has clinical training and experience;
  • has creative and innovative research ideas (fitting the research agenda the group), scientific publications is a pre;
  • has excellent social skills and is a team player;
  • is fluent in Dutch and English;
  • for internal and external candidates without a University Teaching Qualification (UTQ): the requirement to obtain the UTQ within the first year of appointment as a teacher.
  1. Completion of the UTQ is a prerequisite for promotion to the position of senior teacher for internal candidates.
  2. Completion of the UTQ is a condition for contract extension for external candidates.

Conditions of employment

An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

The start date of this position is September 1, 2023, or as soon as possible, and you will be based at DPECS, ESSB at Woudestein campus. The position is for 0.6- 0.8 FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 2960 monthly gross wage to a maximum of € 5439 gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 10 or 11 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme.
