- Our SCM group encompasses scholars with diverse backgrounds and research portfolios, ranging from ones with a primarily OR/MS or mathematical background to ones with an empirical OM/SCM orientation. Such blending of research interests and methods leads to cross-fertilization of ideas and facilitates multi-disciplinary research.
- In our SCM group, we have a high level of collaboration, and a strong admin team to support finance, HR and teaching. We are also a diverse group, with more than 10 different nationalities on our team, which consists of some 30 faculty members, around 15 (part-time and full-time) PhD students and various adjunct faculty members and visiting scholars. While being a large organization, RSM is characterized by a friendly and open culture, and we respect work freedom and work-life balance.
- Working from home is possible, but we strongly encourage regular office presence to facilitate interaction with colleagues and students.

Rotterdam is home to the biggest seaport in Europe, and the Netherlands is an international gateway to the massive markets of Western Europe, resulting in an important and strong logistics sector. The greater Rotterdam - The Hague area ranks second as the most competitive region in the European Union Regional Competitiveness Index. We also interact with policy makers and NGO's, for whom SCM is an increasingly relevant field.

Rotterdam is a dynamic, multicultural city with more than 600,000 inhabitants. Its port is the largest in Europe. The city offers an interesting mix of historical buildings and modern architecture. Rotterdam hosts many cultural and sports events such as the World Port Days, North Sea Jazz festival, an ATP Tennis Tournament, and the Rotterdam marathon. The city is home to many world-class cultural institutions and hosts a diverse restaurant scene. Rotterdam is easy to navigate on foot or bike, while public transport (e.g., bus, metro, tram) is widely and frequently available.
The conditions of employment correspond with the
collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 4,814 (scale 11.6 CAO NU) and up to a maximum of € 5,439 gross per month (scale 11.11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours
. Erasmus University has
