Job description

You will strengthen the team of the European Center on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC), within the Faculty of Law, in the field of communication and marketing. You are able to strike the right chord with different (professional) target groups and to design content in an appealing way for various channels (social media, website, news items, intranet, events, printed materials). You support ECPC and its growth ambitions with your expertise and hands-on attitude and you will further professionalize the marketing and communication initiatives. This is what you will do:
We are looking for a junior Marketing & Communication professional.

This position involves the following activities:
  • Promotion of ECPC's professional executive courses;
  • Ensure and further expand ECPC's social media communications;
  • Student recruitment for the Advanced Master in Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Management;
  • Content management and optimization of the website;
  • Developing and coordinating the Alumni newsletter for graduated Advanced Master students;
  • Developing and designing promotional material such as brochures, banners, goodies, etc.;
  • Staffing information stands at conferences and participating in major promotional activities;
  • Supporting various marketing and communication activities of ECPC;
  • Coordinate these activities with colleagues within the Faculty of Law’s Marketing & Communications team and share best practices.

What does the department look like?
You are part of the Marketing & Communications department within the Faculty of Law, and from that position you will work fully for the European Center of Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC). The Marketing & Communications department is responsible for providing information to prospective students and recruiting new students, external communication, internal communication and research communication. The team currently consists of 10 professionals (8 FTE). Together we provide (online) marketing campaigns and events aimed at student recruitment and information, profiling of the faculty and its associated employees and effective internal communication aimed at the further development of the faculty community.

  • A relevant HBO education, for example in the field of Communication and Multimedia Design;
  • Excellent knowledge (writing and speaking) of the Dutch and English language (English is the main language within ECPC);
  • Experience with publishing online content with content management systems (preferably Drupal);
  • Affinity with visualizing content.

Conditions of employment

As Marketing & Communication Officer at Faculty of Law, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8 according to UFO profile Communicatiemedewerker, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3072,00 and €4103,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,8 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
