We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic project leader to join our team and take a pivotal role in driving and managing entrepreneurial and innovative projects within the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI). As a project leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of projects, ensuring their successful execution, and contributing to the growth and development of CEI. Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of complex academic projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including faculty members, researchers, administrative staff, and external partners, to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
  • Team Leadership: Manage project teams, providing guidance, setting expectations, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks, issues, and challenges within projects and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and updates for university leadership and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet academic and professional standards.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and efficient allocation of funds.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategic management or organisational behaviour
  • Experience in project management, preferably in an academic or research environment is a big plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and academic-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Dutch, both speaking and writing, is a strong bonus.

Conditions of employment

What we offer

As Project Leader at School of Business and Economics, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 10 according to UFO profile 'Projectleider', with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from € 3,226 and € 5,090 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 24 months with a scope of 1.0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
