What are you going to do? We are looking for a junior researcher with a background in (media) history and/or Digital Humanities. Next to developing your own research project, which should lead up to a (joint) publication, you will manage the contacts between the international team members and help with the organization of an international workshop and a research sprint at Cardiff University. We especially encourage applications from students who seek to (partly) use their time in the project to develop a PhD proposal in media history and/or Digital Humanities.
Your tasks and responsibilities: - Manage the contact between the international team members;
- Help with the organization of an international workshop and research sprint;
- Independent media history and/or Digital Humanities research project that leads to a (joint) conference presentation or publication.
What do you have to offer? You are an independent researcher and a good organizer.
Your experience and profile: - A BA or MA in (media) history and/or Digital Humanities;
- Experience in organizing international meetings;
- Experience in managing teams;
- good written and oral command of English;
- interest in digital methods.

What can we offer you? We offer a temporary employment contract for a period of 4 months. Preferred starting date is 01 September 2024. The employment contract is for 24 hours a week.
The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and relevant experience, ranges between € 3072 to € 4103. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8,3% year-end allowance. A favourable tax agreement, the ‘30% ruling’, may apply to non-Dutch applicants. The
Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.
