Job description
As a member of the SBD Grants Office team, you are expected to take a pro-active role in developing funding strategies supportive to research collaborations, with university management and researchers. And you monitor Funding Agencies’ strategies, raising awareness of the relevant funding opportunities and trends, and you are pro-actively following up with the community. Besides you engage in hands-on in the development and professionalization of research project proposals.
Your tasks include:
Staying informed about (inter)national grant opportunities, most prominently in the Dutch and European R&I funding landscape, pro-actively informing the UT community
Pro-actively working with UT stakeholders in the development and implementation of funding strategies of identified strategic areas, including:
early advice on funding opportunities and trends, as well as identification of relevant stakeholders and networks
facilitating good relationships with policymakers, stakeholders and networks, including representing the UT community in relevant events
actively supporting the creation of (inter)national partnerships/ teams for the development of grant proposals
and importantly, guiding the process of grant proposal development, including active contributions to the development of non-scientific sections of the proposal.
SBD welcomes candidates with experience in grant acquisition support
You have substantial work experience in supporting organizations in (inter)national funding acquisition, including funding strategy and/or hands-on grant proposal development
You have good knowledge and understanding of the Dutch national R&I Funding landscape, and ideally also of international Agencies (e.g. EU)
You have/had connections to stakeholders and networks relevant to funding and the research areas of strategic importance for the UT
You have a project-based approach and you can efficiently handle several projects simultaneously (including the ability to manage multiple deadlines)
You are a team-player, coordinating and teaming up to best achieve the common goal
You have a pro-active way of working, take initiative and independently assume the support role
You know what it means to work in an international academic environment
You have excellent command of the English language
You are communicative, service-oriented and accurate
Conditions of employment
We offer a position for 32-38 hours/week. The successful candidates will be employed for one year. After this period, based on good performance and unchanged organizational conditions, there is a possible prospect of a permanent position.
Your salary and associated conditions are in accordance with the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO-NU).
The rating will be based on your background and relevant experience; it can vary between € 4.332,- and € 5.929,- (scale 11) or € 5.247,- and € 6.737,- (scale 12) gross per month.
The University of Twente provides excellent facilities for professional and personal development, an 8% holiday allowance, and an 8,3% end of year bonus.
A minimum of 29 leave days in full-time employment is offered (based on a formal work week of 38 hours). Full-time employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis.
