Job description

Are you someone who likes to keep everything running smoothly and has a passion for nature and the environment? Do you get excited about the careful preparation, execution, and completion of our group's publications? And are you fluent in Dutch? Then we are looking for you!

The Statutory Research Tasks for Nature and Environment (WOT-NM) team ensures, among other things, through publications, that representatives in the Dutch and European parliament are well-informed about the effects on nature of the decisions they make. WOT-NM is a program organization with its own program office that is organizationally housed as a team within Wageningen Environmental Research (WENR). The head of the WOT-NM program is also the leader of the WOT-NM team.

Due to shifts in work activities within the program office, a vacancy has arisen for an editorial assistant. This person supports the editor of WOT-NM and works together with the program assistant. The editorial assistant ensures that the planning and progress of our publications run smoothly from the rough final draft to the final layout and publication.

This is a position of 16 hours per week, initially temporary for 2 years. You can find more information about our team and recent publications on our site.

Your tasks:
  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring the editorial process and overseeing the scheduled publications
  • Taking care of the layout and/or image editing of publications
  • Maintenance of the website
  • (Co-)organizing the logistics and facilities for symposia, workshops, study sessions, and presentations
  • Performing secretarial tasks such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, sending letters, and maintaining data in various digital systems.

Requirements

  • This is a position where Dutch is the working language. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch are therefore required.
  • Experience with planning and organizing.
  • Relevant education at a minimum of secondary vocational education level (MBO in Dutch).
  • Competencies: accuracy, integrity and teamwork.
  • Affinity with the domain of Statutory Research Tasks for Nature & Environment.
  • Digital skills.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €2,695,-- and 3,551,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 7). This position is for 16 hours per week and in principle limited to two years.
