Job description

As RUNOMI Network Officer you will play a central role in the further professionalisation of the education, research and societal outreach activities of the Radboud University Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI), an internationally renowned hub of expertise on migrant inclusion issues. We are seeking a highly energetic and entrepreneurial colleague to manage the daily operations of the RUNOMI network office and to initiate and coordinate a diverse range of interrelated initiatives, in particular the RUNOMI sector plan.

The role of RUNOMI Officer will entail: (i) Managing the daily operations of the network office, including supervising a part-time student assistant, and regularly liaising with university support staff, with the RUNOMI core team members overseeing the Education, Research and Societal Impact activities, and with members of the RUNOMI Steering Committee, (ii) Engaging in knowledge exchange and communication with network members, societal partners and the wider academic community, including the distribution of the monthly newsletter and communication through other media channels, (iii) Initiating and coordinating various thematically interrelated initiatives (education, research, societal impact) involving RUNOMI members, including the organisation of online and offline meetings and large-scale events (e.g. the annual RUNOMI conference), the facilitation of project and training development initiatives (e.g. the Radboud Summer School courses), and the facilitation of digital collaboration using MS Teams, and (iv) Providing back-office support to ongoing RUNOMI initiatives, currently including the RUNOMI sector plan investment programme on digitalisation and migrant inclusion, the Horizon EU projects DignityFIRM (Dignity For Irregular Migrants in EU Farm2Fork Labour Markets) and GS4S (Global Strategy for Skills, Migration, and Development) and the Interreg TRAM project (Transnational Work Migration in the Euregion).

Requirements

  • You hold an MA degree, and you have a demonstrable affinity with migration issues and processes of change, particularly in a digital context.
  • You have experience with interdisciplinary collaboration activities related to the theme of migrant inclusion.
  • You have working experience within an education and/or research organisation.
  • You have effective and culturally competent communication and scientific writing skills in Dutch and English.
  • You have Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • You have proven managerial, leadership and team-working skills.
  • You have a flexible, creative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • You have relevant practical experience. A professional network in the work field of migrant inclusion would be an advantage.
  • You have work experience in the organisation of professional networking events, the development of training activities for various audiences, and research project development.
  • You have an affinity with digital communication. Experience with working in collaboration channels would be an advantage (social media, blogs, MS Teams).

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

  • We will give you a temporary employment contract of in total 48 months (0.5 fte for 21 months and 0.4 fte for 27 months).
  • Your salary within salary scale 10 depends on your previous education and number of years of (relevant) work experience. The amounts in the scale are based on a 38-hour working week.
  • You will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8,3% end-of-year bonus.

Department

The Radboud University Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI) is a network of more than 120 scholars working at different Radboud University faculties, who integrate Radboud University-wide knowledge from various disciplines to study the multifaceted phenomena of migration and migrant inclusion. RUNOMI activities focus on three domains related to migrant inclusion: economic inclusion, social inclusion, and migrant access to public services, healthcare and housing. RUNOMI has established a strong reputation as an internationally renowned hub of expertise on migrant inclusion issues. It has been successful in acquiring substantial funds to implement various large-scale innovation programmes in research, education and societal impact.

The RUNOMI network office is hosted by the department of Geography, Planning and Environment and forms part of the RUNOMI Hot Spot at the Institute for Management Research (IMR) at the Nijmegen School of Management. The network activities in relation to Education, Research and Societal Impact are coordinated by three members of the RUNOMI Steering Committee. A part-time student assistant supports the operational work of the network office.
