The RSM HR team, currently comprising of 1 HR Business Partner and 5 HR Officers, is looking for two new colleagues to add an advisory function for both our academic staff portfolio as well as our professional services staff.

As Sr HR Advisor at RSM you are part of a core function that facilitates the day-to-day of our departments, teams and staff within the faculty. By supporting management with timely and on point advice, ensuring policies are executed equitably, and processes run smoothly, all while maintaining a proactive, collaborative, and empathetic approach, you will contribute to making RSM a great place to work.

As a Senior HR Advisor, you will:
  • Oversee and manage absence cases, ensuring compliance and effective communication, in collaboration with the central HR Illness team.
  • Take care of employee relations cases.
  • Support further development of, implement, and advise on, the faculty’s policies in collaboration with the HR Business partner and RSM’s policy advisor.
  • Manage employee engagement and performance initiatives and processes.
  • Advise managers on people-related matters.
  • Manage the on- and off boarding procedures to ensure valuable employee experience for new and departing employees.
  • Support the HR Business Partner in providing clear and actionable solutions to complex people-related problems.
  • Collaborate closely with our supportive RSM HR team, as well as with HR Advice colleagues from the central EUR HR team and specialist from shared services teams such as HR International and HR Legal.

Requirements

You have:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HRM, Psychology, Business Administration or another related field.
  • Extensive experience in an HR advisory role, with a focus on absence management and managing employee relations cases, policy development and implementation, engagement, and performance management.
  • Experience working in a university or similarly structured (semi-public) organisation is preferred.
  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Understanding of the integration and importance of Diversity and Inclusion in HR practices.
  • Fluent in both Dutch (C2 CEFR level) and English (C1 CEFR level) spoken and written.

Conditions of employment

This position is a fulltime position, (a part-time contract of 0,9 or 0,8 FTE may be considered in consultation), with the option to apply flexible working hours according to CAO NU. We offer an initial year contract, with the option to be followed up by a permanent contract upon successful performance and business needs.

We have a hybrid working scheme, where you can choose to work fully from the office on the Woudestein Campus in Rotterdam or partially work from home.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 4,332 and up to a maximum of € 5,929 gross per month (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours per week.

On June 28, parties reached a negotiation result for a new collective labor agreement with a term from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. Among others a 3.7% salary increase per 1 September 2024.
