General

You will join a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment. The Master Programmes

At Hotelschool the Hague we currently have 2 Master Programs. The Master focuses on sustainability and digitalization specifically for hotels. The MBA is designed for the more senior professional. Both programmes serve a specific target audience which ensures personal attention and close collaboration among students.

Both Master programmes are taught from our Amsterdam campus in a small-scale educational setting with focus on quality which is delivered by internal lecturers, research professionals and external experts. The Program Manager Masters works in close collaboration with the Coordinator Master Programmes.

General function description

  • Within this function 3 days (0.6 FTE) is spent on organisational aspect of the Master Programmes, the remainder of time is spent teaching in the Master programme or conducting research and publications in line with HTH research vision (a combination of teaching and research is possible)
  • During the first year the focus will be to re-design the MBA programme and increase student enrolment capacity
  • Provide active reporting, progress updates and improvement plans with required internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate and organize the Master Programmes, including staffing, planning, and budgeting.
  • Manage strategic and multidisciplinary projects to ensure programme coherence and alignment with desired learning outcomes.
  • Develop long-term plans and goals for the Master programmes, aligning them with the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Formulate and implement improvements to the educational plan and operational processes.
  • Promote the Master programmes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain adequate student enrollment numbers.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and alignment of the Master programmes with the Bachelor curriculum and the Research Centre.
  • Evaluate and revise the Master programmes based on feedback and industry trends.
  • Guiding the student journey specifically the guidance as tutor during their thesis project
  • Organize and facilitate events related to the Master programmes, including guest lectures and external speaker sessions.
  • Advise the Dean and Board of Directors on curriculum direction and developments.
  • Oversee quality assurance and accreditation of the Master programmes.
  • Guide students through their thesis project as a tutor and examiner.
  • Stay updated with industry and educational sector developments through networking, including maintaining connections with alumni.
  • Participate actively as team member of the management team and implement the strategy of the Institutional Plan jointly

Requirements

Candidate profile 

You have/are:

  • A PHD degree is preferred an MBA/Master degree is required
  • Broad theoretical knowledge in graduate programmes
  • Experience as programme manager in education (3-5 years)
  • Either experience in teaching (including didactical qualifications and skills) or experience in academic research and publications
  • Skills in developing, promoting, and managing educational plans.
  • Proficiency in Business English (minimum C1 level).
  • A positive outlook and the ability to achieve results in challenging circumstances
  • Inspirational leadership qualities, along with empathy and patience
  • Empathy and patience towards students and others
  • Proven track record in collaboration skills and initiating teamwork
  • Strong stakeholder management and coaching abilities
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking skills
  • Insight into organizational, procedural, and professional connections beyond your own department
  • Intercultural knowledge and networking skills with existing networks in the academic/educational field

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 13 of the collective labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 5.745,15 and € 6.997,66 per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.
