ABS is a growing, research driven business school at an internationally recognized university that has the ambition to become a leading international player in the field of business research and education. ABS is located in the heart of Amsterdam, the cultural and financial capital of the Netherlands, offering a cosmopolitan living environment with excellent connections to the world. E&I Section’s main strengths in teaching, research, and impact are entrepreneurship, innovation management, creative & cultural industries, and advanced computational methods, together with our ties to the (entrepreneurial and cultural)Amsterdam. The section is very collegial and diverse, its scholars come from 14 different nationalities, with wide range of backgrounds. The section’s education portfolio is based on two interrelated management challenges: creating and growing new ventures, as well as realizing and capturing innovations. The relevance of the combination of entrepreneurship and innovation has become clear in topics such as startups, entrepreneurship psychology, technology (e.g., AI), open innovation, creative and cultural industries, management of creative teams, crowdfunding, the lean startup movement, scaling up new ventures, and corporate entrepreneurship. The section promotes a challenge-based, experiential learning environment to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and innovative leaders for the future.
