And it's the place where you, as a research project coordinator, ensure that innovative research in the social sciences and humanities, the heritage sector and the library network has a lasting impact on our society. You will lead projects that not only increase knowledge but also transform the way we value and preserve our heritage.

Are you up for the task?

As a research project coordinator, you will be responsible for guiding and directing research initiatives within the Research department, with a specific focus on international collaboration. You'll ensure that projects meet funder requirements and contribute to science communication through effective knowledge sharing. More so, you are the coordinator who:

  • identifies practical challenges and translates these into research questions in collaboration with our collection experts and scientific researchers.
  • actively develops and expands both internal and external research networks to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange.
  • leads the communication of research findings to a broad audience, including writing articles and delivering presentations at scientific conferences.
  • manages the reporting and evaluation of project implementation, ensuring compliance with guidelines and documenting the impact of the projects.

Additionally, you play a crucial role in strategically positioning research projects both within and outside the organization, aiming to strengthen our position as a knowledge leader in the social sciences and humanities.

  • your network knowledge in the research field of social sciences and humanities.
  • a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree.
  • significant and demonstrable experience in supervising or conducting scientific research and a thorough knowledge of research methods.
  • an analytical and critical mindset, with the skill to constructively engage others in your work.
  • the ability to effectively communicate the importance of research projects and to convince stakeholders of their value.
  • expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • a results-oriented attitude and strong organizational skills, accustomed to taking responsibility in dynamic project environments.

Conditions of employment

What can you expect?
When you choose the KB, you also choose outstanding employment conditions. Specifically, you can expect:

  • a gross monthly salary between € 3.361 and € 5.331 (scale 10).
  • oversees the implementation of research projects, ensuring the project structure and functioning as a sparring partner for financial and legal departments.
  • to start with, a one-year contract, with a prospect of permanent employment based on performance and positive evaluation.
  • a healthy work-life balance, including flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home.
  • full reimbursement of public transport expenses.
  • pension accrual through the ABP pension fund, with the KB paying 70% of the premium.
  • a thirteenth-month bonus (8.33%).

These conditions apply to a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The research project coordinator role offers a contract for 32-36 hours per week. Learn more about our excellent secondary employment benefits.
