The Summer Programmes Office is seeking a Programme and Marketing Coordinator to join our team in January. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to engage in the study abroad field and immerse yourself in a truly international academic environment. Last year, our interdisciplinary programmes welcomed participants from over 70 different nationalities. Our office oversees a wide range of responsibilities, from marketing and student recruitment to managing applications and enrollment, curriculum development, programme management, and student support during the summer. We ensure that all our programmes run smoothly.
Working at the Summer Programmes Office is fast-paced and highly rewarding. In summer 2025, we anticipate hosting over 600 students across 30 programmes in various subjects within the social and behavioural sciences. Participants will come from a range of backgrounds, including high school students (aged 16+), current university students (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), and working professionals.
What are you going to do We are looking for a new team member to fulfil a combined function of programme coordinator and marketing coordinator.
As a Marketing Coordinator, you will:
- Be responsible for community management
- Write programme texts, marketing texts, social media post and related short articles
- Maintain the summer school website and will be responsible for email marketing
- Manage our social media channels
As a Programme Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate summer programmes in collaboration with the Academic Directors (teachers) and potentially develop new ones
- Organise programme excursions, bookings, and other events
- Be responsible for clear and timely syllabi, programme schedules and digital learning environments (Canvas) for the programmes under your care
- Be responsible for the day-to-day running of your programmes during the summer and accompanying groups of students on excursions
- Process applications and remain in contact with the applicants
- Take care of programme and education administration: payments, confirmations, registrations, grades and transcripts
- Reply to emails from students, act as a mentor for students and ambassador of the University of Amsterdam community
What do you have to offer We are seeking candidates who have experience in organising higher education or possess relevant project management experience. They should also have experience in marketing and social media management. A strong interest in study-abroad programmes and innovative education is essential.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with students and participants of all ages and nationalities. They must be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating qualities of a team player and a self-starter. In addition, they should be detail-oriented, highly organized, and efficient in managing administrative tasks. We are looking for individuals who remain level-headed, positive, flexible, and able to improvise when necessary.
You also:
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Have basic proficiency in Dutch (B1 or higher)
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
What can we offer you Programme and Marketing Coordinator is a position for 32 hours per week, for one year, starting date January 1st , with the possibility of a permanent contract after one year with unchanged financial and organisational circumstances. The minimum salary is € 3.186 to € 4.255 gross per month based on a 38-hour working week, in keeping with salary scale 8, as per the
Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities. UFO-profile Medewerker Studentenzaken 2 is applicable.
We additionally offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
