The department of Architectural Engineering + Technology wants to welcome a new colleague at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Job description
Delft University of Technology, located in the Netherlands, invites applications for a faculty position at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, specifically in the Department of Architectural Engineering & Technology. The position is set to commence in Spring 2025 or not later than the start of the 2025/2026 academic year, with an appointment available at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop and lead groundbreaking research and education on digital technologies for architectural engineering. You will be expected to drive innovative research projects that leverage cutting-edge computational methods, techniques, and tools; innovate and contribute to our educational activities at the bachelor, master, and doctoral level; contribute to the mission and valorisation of our academic environment.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. degree when applying. Ideally the candidates’ background is in architecture, architectural engineering, building science engineering, and proven experience in informatics, computer science and/or with background in computer science, with demonstrated ability to apply it in architecture, architectural engineering, building science engineering.

We particularly welcome applications from individuals with a strong profile in areas of digital technologies for architectural engineering, innovating in computational approaches that contribute to a design focused department and impact societal challenges.

We specifically seek candidates with demonstrated ability in acquiring research funds, demonstrated in proportion to seniority level.

We are looking for a colleague with leadership skills; and with a strategic overview across different specialisms, capable of connecting content-wise, able to think strategically, be proactive in identifying and implementing opportunities for the department.

Faculty Architecture & the Built Environment
The Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment has a leading role in education and research worldwide. The driving force behind the faculty’s success is its robust research profile combined with the energy and creativity of its student body and academic community. It is buzzing with energy from early in the morning until late at night, with four thousand people studying, working, designing, conducting research and acquiring and disseminating knowledge. Conditions of employment
The employment contract is for 18 months with the prospect of a permanent contract.

The positions are for a 32 to 40 hours working week.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. A salary based on scale 11/12/13/14, depending on the candidate's work experience and expertise, and based on a fulltime employment, is:
  • Assistant Professor:

Scale 11 (minimum of €4.492,- and maximum of €6.148,-.)

Scale 12 (minimum of €5.441,- and maximum of €6.986,-.)
  • Associate Professor:

Scale 13 (minimum of €6.224,- and maximum of €7.575,-.)

Scale 14 (minimum of €6.538,- and maximum of €8.322,-)
