Job description

We invite applications from candidates with research interests in low temperature plasmas, with emphasis on plasma-surface interactions and computation.

You will be working as a PI within the group Elementary Processes in Gas Discharges (EPG) of the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education (APSE) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). This group works on a large variety of plasma related topics. The group is active in both experimental and theoretical/numerical work.

You will be responsible for setting up and driving your own independent research program, by generating funding, and supervising/coaching students at the bachelor/master/PhD level. As an Assistant Professor you are expected to participate in and contribute to the development of the Applied Physics bachelor's and master's teaching programs. At the same time, you will benefit from the resources and collaborative environment of a larger research unit and an open, collegial department. You will contribute to the success of the research group, department, and associated institutes by initiating new internal and external collaborations and proactive participation. Female candidates are explicitly invited to apply.

To support you, we provide you with a startup package and access to state-of-the-art research facilities including our clean room. We offer a dedicated mentoring scheme, and free access to a broad portfolio of training programs for personal development and academic leadership. The TU/e also offers a stimulating environment for collaborations with other research units, departments, and industry. Within TU/e, exciting collaborative opportunities exist with other departments and multidisciplinary institutes.

We offer an appointment as Assistant Professor, with a career perspective that ranges up to Associate or full Professor in due time. If you have a more senior profile, a tailor-made career proposal will be considered.
