A 3-year post-doc research position on machine learning for medical imaging to explore and prototype new AI techniques for precision care, to provide support to PhD students, and to deploy research results for testing in a clinical environment.

Job description

Our lab for Translational Cancer-Imaging leads multiple studies in which AI techniques are translated into decision support systems for precision care in Oncology and Hematology. In short: how to get the right treatment to the right patient at the right time.

Your objective will be to explore new AI techniques to analyze CT, MRI, and PET/CT images for this goal, translate Explainable Artificial Intelligence approaches into trustworthy applications that provide insight into the reasoning of these systems, provide machine-learning support to PhD students across several research projects, and to deploy promising research results into prototype applications that allow further testing in a clinical environment.

Projects are strongly multi-disciplinary with collaborations between the Image Sciences Institute, Radiology and Nuclear medicine, Hematology, Surgery and Medical Oncology at the UMC Utrecht. In addition, projects connect to multiple other cancer centers throughout the Netherlands.
