Job description

As a business support officer, you support colleagues within the Research Liaison Office (RLO) team of the Animal Sciences Group at Wageningen University & Research. Please note that good command of Dutch both spoken and written, is mandatory for this vacancy.

In this role you advise and support researchers with grant applications and the commercial aspects surrounding research projects. You advise researchers and support the team throughout the entire process, from project idea to the start of the research. This includes aspects such as rates, terms, and contracts. Together with the liaison officers, you make it possible for research ideas to become reality.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a business support officer are:
  • Preparing quotes for (small) research assignments. You do this in consultation with the researcher and our legal department;
  • For approved grant projects, you ensure that the administrative matters are arranged so that the project can have a good start;
  • You are the contact person for Material Transfer Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements, and you coordinate their processing.

Your team
You will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated Research Liaison Office team within the Department of Animal Sciences. In this role, you provide support for and work with the four liaison officers and researchers. This role offers room for personal development, allowing you to grow into the role of research liaison officer, so you can become the first point of contact for one or more chair groups.

Requirements

You work meticulously, independently, and have a customer-oriented attitude. You are able to combine this with a pragmatic, structured, and results-driven approach.

Additionally, you possess:
  • A completed education at HBO/university level;
  • Affinity with an academic working environment is a plus;
  • Knowledge of and experience with grants and/or contracts is a plus;
  • Good command of both the English and Dutch languages.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €€3.040,- and €4.687,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 8-7).
