Job description

As Secretary General of NeurotechEU, you will coordinate the projects of the alliance. You will lead the Management and Coordination Office and, together with this office, actively support the implementation and execution of the programme. You will be the alliance's main contact with the European Commission, writing and coordinating the necessary reports. You will also be the alliance's first point of contact for other alliances, associated partners and other interested parties. Furthermore, together with the alliance coordinator, you will take the lead in organising annual conferences and meetings in consultation with the partners. You will also take the lead role in coordinating and writing applications for the alliance. Within Radboud University, you will maintain contacts with both academic and support staff for the benefit of the project.

Your tasks:
  • To coordinate all collaboration activities between NeurotechEU, its partners and Radboud University, working closely with the project coordinator, rector, deans, academic and support staff, and the Management and Coordination Office.
  • To coordinate the NeurotechEU work packages within the alliance in collaboration with the Management and Coordination Office at Radboud University.
  • To chair Radboud team meetings and develop good practices to help Radboud University further realise its ambitions in NeurotechEU.
  • To oversee planning in terms of deliverables, milestones, finances, legal impact and the organisation of this initiative together with regional, national and international stakeholders.
  • To bear the responsibility for internal and external communications on behalf of Radboud University.
  • To fill in for the project coordinator in his or her absence.

Requirements

  • You have completed university education.
  • You have experience in project management, including financial management, in higher education and science.
  • You have experience with (European) international cooperation, preferably gained in Erasmus+ projects.
  • You have experience in working with tight deadlines and managing stakeholders accordingly.
  • You are a team player with a hands-on mentality and have excellent communication skills. You are able to motivate, engage and lead teams with a high degree of intercultural sensitivity.
  • You have proven management skills (in process and project management, finances and dealing with legal issues) in an international environment.
  • You have proven experience in working with university leaders, managing networks and multiple stakeholders.
  • You have experience in co-creative leadership.
  • You have experience in successfully transforming programmes involving actors from different organisational levels.
  • You have experience in writing reports and applications.
  • You have a high willingness to travel for work and work outside regular working hours.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Dutch.

Conditions of employment

  • We will give you a temporary employment contract of 2 year(s).
  • Your salary within salary scale 14 depends on your previous education and number of years of (relevant) work experience. The amounts in the scale are based on a 38-hour working week.
  • You will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8,3% end-of-year bonus.

NeurotechEU, the European University of Brain and Technology, is one of the 64 European University initiatives of the European Union. Radboud University is the lead agency for NeurotechEU. As Secretary General, you will be part of the Management and Coordination Office.

NeurotechEU, the European University of Brain and Technology, was established in 2020 under the European Universities Initiative. Radboud University is the coordinator and one of the founders of NeurotechEU. The other participating partners are Reykjavik University[LD1] (Iceland), Karolinska Institute (Sweden), the University of Bonn (Germany), the University of Lille (France), the University of Pharmacy and Medicine of Cluj (Romania), the University of Miguel Hernandez, Elche (Spain), and the University of Bogazice, Istanbul (Turkey). NeurotechEU aims to build a trans-European network of excellence in brain research and technologies to enhance the competitiveness of European education, research, economy, and society.
