Do you want to contribute to the accessibility, reliability and reproducibility of scientific research? That's possible! As a Research Data Management Consultant at WUR Library, you will be responsible for advising, supporting and training researchers in the field of Research Data Management (RDM), Research Software Management (RSM) and the FAIR principles.
As a Research Data Management Consultant, you will take the management and use of research data to a higher level. Within the Research Support team, you are responsible for providing training and answering questions from researchers in the field of RDM and FAIR principles. In addition, you will follow national and international developments and help to implement appropriate services within the organization.

In addition, your work consists of:
  • Providing proper information, training materials, websites and documentation to support researchers;
  • Reviewing Data Management plans for individual researchers, projects and research groups in accordance with the requirements of WUR and funding agencies;
  • Stimulate the use of the available tools and services in the field of RDM within WUR;
  • Keeping abreast of new trends, technologies and standards in the field of RDM and stimulating their application within WUR;
  • Contribute to the development of institutional policies, strategies and infrastructure improvements for RDM and RSM.

You will be part of WUR Library's Research Support Team and will work together with 3 colleagues who are responsible for RDM support and 2 data librarians who are responsible for the curation of research data. In addition, you will work together with colleagues from other organizational units that are also involved in research data, such as the IT department, Information Management and Wageningen Data Competence Center.

Requirements

You have strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders such as researchers, policymakers and other support staff. In addition, you have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and service-oriented environment. You are proactive and get energy from providing workshops and training for researchers and support staff.
You also possess:
  • at least a master's degree;
  • has experience with scientific research, preferably in the life sciences or social sciences;
  • fluent in both Dutch and English.

You will work here
WUR Library, with 65 dedicated staff members spread over four specialized departments, offers innovative support to researchers and students. You will help us to optimize the use of our collections, systems and support services from the perspective of our users. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3,234 and €5,273 for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10). Additionally, a contract between 28-32 hours can be discussed. We initially offer a one-year contract.
