Job description

The BMS LAB facilitates a high-tech environment for social sciences including XR, new sensor technologies, knowledge in data processing, visualizations, and outcome measures to researchers (and their students) of the BMS faculty and their cooperation partners. We are looking for a new developer to join our Tech Team with a specialization in XR development.

The goal of the Developer is to facilitate successful creating interactive products that utilize immersive technologies such as VR/AR/MR for education, research and external clients. In realizing this goal, you create applications in Unity.

Your tasks include consulting and co-creating with clients and setting up development plans for projects (writing requirements, estimating, communicating, planning) and then executing them. You also make sure that the required documentation is available.

You also maintain critical Unity applications that are important for the BMS LAB and its clients. In doing so you help reduce overall development time of products created in Unity.

Furthermore, you have interest in or affinity with the social sciences, have a creative mindset and have a service orientation as well as an independent opinion. You can clearly articulate this in both speech and writing, also to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • You have a applied sciences (Dutch: HBO) bachelor or university bachelor/master degree in a relevant field of expertise;
  • You have (extensive) knowledge of Unity, C#, GitHub, PlasticSCM;
  • It is an advantage if you have work expertise in a similar environment;
  • You are a problem solver and strong communicator;
  • And you are an excellent team-player and excited about working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Conditions of employment

  • You will be working in a high-tech environment of the BMS LAB. You will be assigned to the Behavioural Management Sciences Faculty for, at least, for the duration of 1 year (0,8 fte)
  • The gross salary is in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) € 3.218,- to € 4.860,- gross per month for a fulltime position, depending on your qualifications and experience
  • On top of this, you receive a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus
