You will coordinate and assist in the practical aspects of education, support students and PhD candidates in using the equipment within our group, and ensure the maintenance of our equipment.
You will test new equipment before purchase and assist in data collection for specific research activities.
You are also responsible for the procurement and management of chemicals and small laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • a completed MBO or HBO degree in, for example, physical/analytical chemistry;
  • knowledge of the physical-chemical aspects of materials, preferably food products;
  • practical experience with various physical and chemical analysis techniques;
  • proactive team skills; willingness to take responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of laboratory facilities;
  • excellent communication skills in English.

In our international work environment, English is increasingly the language of communication. For this position, a language proficiency level of B2 is required. If you do not yet meet this level, we will provide support through our language center, Wageningen in’to Language.

You will find plenty of challenges in this position, which can also be seen as opportunities for development. If you do not yet fully meet the track record required for this vacancy but do have solid work experience, we would still like to invite you to apply.

When it comes to employment conditions, Wageningen University & Research is an excellent choice. Here are some highlights from our CAO (Collective Labor Agreement):
  • sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave;
  • flexible working hours, enabling an optimal work-life balance;
  • a strong focus on vitality, with access to campus sports facilities at an attractive rate;
  • a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
  • excellent pension benefits via ABP.

In addition to these excellent secondary benefits, we also offer a competitive salary based on your experience, ranging from €3,218 to €4,298 for a full-time workweek of 38 hours in accordance with the CAO Dutch Universities (scale 8). A 32-hour workweek is negotiable. Initially, we will offer a one-year contract, which can be extended upon satisfactory performance and depending on organizational conditions. We are happy to discuss any questions you may have about this.

At Wageningen University & Research, we encourage internal growth opportunities and mobility through an internal recruitment policy. There is ample room for your own initiative in a learning environment, and we offer excellent training opportunities. You will join a diverse and international environment with a pleasant and open work culture.

You will work on the greenest and most innovative campus in the Netherlands, at a university ranked as the "best university" in the country for the 19th consecutive year.

Coming from abroad
