Expert Centre for External PhD's - Floor & Kerstin

Floor Basten and Kerstin van Tiggelen have both completed their PhDs while working outside of academia. Together, they founded the Expert Centre for External PhDs, as they know from personal experience that undertaking a PhD outside of the traditional academic environment requires a different approach from both the external PhD candidate and the supervising professor compared to a conventional PhD process.

Basten and Van Tiggelen help you make a well-considered decision in advance and guide you during the promotion process. They offer this guidance through the Handbook and Workbook for External PhDs, inspiring workshops, and personal coaching. The Handbook is highly recommended for all PhD candidates, by the way.
