Sapiens Steering Brain Stimulation, recently acquired by Medtronic and now called Medtronic Eindhoven Design Center (MEDC), is a young medical device company, founded in 2011 as a spin-out from Philips Research. MEDC is located at the High Tech Campus in an inspiring high-tech work environment with many opportunities. Our dedicated team is working with several leading co-development- and clinical partners. Our mission is to provide superior solutions for 'Deep Brain Stimulating' (DBS) therapy (a brain pacemaker). Our ambition is to comfort and improve therapy initially to patients with Parkinson's disease. For this purpose we develop a unique DBS system with high accuracy. Our implant and image-guided programming of these are based on patented technologies. In the coming years we will develop our products and do clinical validation.
