The Centre of Expertise Water Technology (CEW) is the knowledge and innovation centre for applied research and product development in the field of water technology. The CEW brings together the expertise of education, research, governments and companies. Together with students, lecturers, researchers, companies and governments, the CEW is working on innovative solutions for the increasing global problems surrounding climate, environment, water and food. In this way, the CEW contributes to educational development, innovation acceleration and talent development.

The CEW is part of WaterCampus Leeuwarden, the meeting point of the Dutch water technology sector. WaterCampus stimulates cooperation between (inter)national businesses, knowledge institutes and governments within the water technology sector, in order to create synergy for world class innovation, education and entrepreneurship. This strengthens the global position of the European water technology sector. Additionally, WaterCampus offers  a unique research infrastructure, and is a meeting point for scientists and companies from all over Europe.
