Radboud University is an international university based in the historical and bustling Nijmegen, the oldest city of the Netherlands. With around 24.000 students and more than 5.000 employees, we contribute to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all. We want to have an impact, and in this we are guided by both academic questions and societal challenges.
Our modern, sustainable campus is compact and our work environment is informal. This means that your colleagues are all within easy reach, both literally and figuratively. And our facilities offer you the scope to put your ideas to the test and push your boundaries.
What is good research and education to you? For us, this means discovering, digging, collaborating, discussing and inspiring. You can judge us by our Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes or our world-renowned research facilities such as the HFML-FELIX or the Max Planck Institute. But why not simply judge us by our science? By the knowledge we acquire through interdisciplinary collaboration and by the impact this has on humans and the world. Discover how we contribute to science on Radboud Recharge.
Will you also help make a difference? Contribute to the climate, brain research or cracking unbreakable systems. You have a part to play.
Our campus contributes to personalised education and interdisciplinary research. The diverse environment invites you to study, collaborate and socialise. There is plenty of green space, perfect for a walk or to find a quiet place to relax. In addition, you can practice sports in our very own sports centre, but also take a breather in the many eateries and cafes. Or enjoy music and theater performances, events and lectures in our professional theater hall C.
Sustainability plays an important role in the future of the campus. To facilitate this, a green and healthy university environment with a strong focus on biodiversity is key. This way, we make a positive impact on the climate. The newest university building is even energy-neutral: on an annual basis, the building consumes as much energy as it produces.
Radboud University contributes to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for everyone. And for this purpose, we require diverse and versatile people from all over the world, who wish to share and expand their knowledge and experience, so that we can work together to fulfil your ambitions as well as our own. There is ample opportunity for development. You will also find that our terms of employment focus on your needs, which makes it possible for us to help you achieve a good work-life balance. Despite being the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen remains young at heart. The city is known for its cultural events, festivals, music venues and arthouse cinemas. It is ever-vibrant, both during the day and at night. You can endlessly wander the large city parks and winding streets without getting bored. Between the historic buildings and the many cafes, pubs and shops, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Perhaps you would rather walk along the Waal River or cycle across it. You may want to head to the city beaches, the Ooijpolder, or Germany. Whichever way you go, Nijmegen will only get greener! Nijmegen was even named the European Green Capital in 2018.
