Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is seeking a Full Professor (0.8-1 FTE) to head the chair of Food Process Engineering (FPE)About Food Process Engineering chair group The chair group of Food Process Engineering (FPE) is an academic group of approximately 70 FTE dedicated to developing sustainable processes for producing food and food ingredients. Our research centres around separation technology, microtechnology, protein technology, dry processing, food digestion and health, and food structuring technologies like shear cell, extrusion and 3D printing. In many of these area’s the group is considered as world leading. In recent years, the group initiated new research lines in data sciences and AI, strongly related to the previously mentioned research areas.
The group contributes to the Food Technology BSc, MSc and PhD study programs of Wageningen University. Our teaching portfolio covers the breadth of our research and trends in food technology. Teaching is done both on campus and online. Our mission is to enable students to investigate food processing principles, so that they can contribute to sustainable food production.
The group consists of three Full and two Associate Professors, each with a clear research line. It has four tenure track Assistant Professors who are developing their own research. In addition, three teachers work side-by-side with the academic staff to innovate our education. Seven technicians develop and maintain advanced research equipment and provide support to PhD, MSc and BSc students. Besides, the group has three supporting staff members. The group has forty PhD-students and six postdocs. The group members work together to do research and provide education that enable student to improve our future supply of food. They collaborate nationally and internationally with many academic and industry partners, as well as societal stakeholders to achieve our ambitions. Information about the group can be found here.
