Job description

The Radio Systems Group within the department of Electrical Engineering has a vacancy for a PhD researcher to work in the EU Horizon Europe Marie Sklodowska-Curie Project iSENSE – In-Situ Monitoring of Electromagnetic Interference. This research is linked to Doctoral Candidate 13 – DC13 – on enhancing electromagnetic compatibility for evolving power grids and renewable integration through adaptive, distributed control.

The evolution of power grids and distributed renewable energy sources demands an approach that seamlessly integrates time- and frequency-domain measurements with statistical analyses. Conventional methods often overlook critical aspects, leading to inefficiencies in system optimization. This PhD will introduce adaptive, distributed control concepts to refine the balance between load and supply within power systems. S/he will examine the dynamic interplay of supply and demand while anticipating and mitigating EMI, ensuring a more resilient and intelligent energy infrastructure.
