The position is part of the Plant Pathology team within HZPC Research. This team is carrying out both Strategic- and Applied Research projects. It is involved in studying the interaction of potato with different pathogens and pests in order to develop resistance screening- and diagnostic assays. For this vacancy, we are particularly looking for scientific knowledge and experience in the fields of Molecular Bacteriology and –Phytopathology. As a scientist you will initiate and lead Strategic Research Projects.

Research in Plant Pathology and the study of plant-pathogen interactions is and will always be a fascinating discipline. In our department we develop knowledge in the domain of plant-pathogen interactions to find the key to sustainable management of various pests and diseases in potato. The pests/pathogens themselves are constantly adapting and, due to climate change and breeding for international – and also tropical – markets, we have to deal with different pests/pathogens and their variants. Plant pathology as a discipline is therefore constantly developing and always challenging! By using your knowledge to contribute to resistance breeding in our company, you can contribute to the sustainable cultivation of potatoes throughout the world!
