Job description

The School of Psychology and the Donders Centre for Cognition (DCC) at Radboud University are looking for a Junior Lecturer/PhD Candidate for Neuropsychology. As a Junior Lecturer/PhD candidate you will have both research (60%) and teaching (40%) duties for a 6-year period.

Your teaching will involve various activities in the Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology and the specialisation in Healthcare Psychology of the Master's degree programme in Psychology, with a focus on neuropsychology. Most likely, it will involve 1) tutoring workgroups in the first year of the Bachelor's programme in Psychology, 2) supervision of third-year students in their Bachelor’s degree research project, which should align with the research within the PhD part of the position, 3) supervision of Master’s students' theses within the Master's specialisation in Healthcare Psychology, and 4) lecturing various courses. Whilst holding this position, you will be given the opportunity to obtain your University Teaching Qualification. You will be supervised and will gain a diverse range of teaching experience over the course of the project.

You will enrol in the PhD programme at the DCC and become a member of the Donders Institute Graduate School. The topic of your research will be in the domain of neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology. Because of the strong link between research and teaching in this Junior Lecturer/PhD Candidate position, the central topic of the research project will have to be of interest to our students as you will supervise many students during their Bachelor’s and/or Master’s thesis projects on the same topic. Specifically, the focus in this position will be on one of the following topics (depending on your specific interests):

  • Reinforcement learning mechanisms in pain placebo effects.
  • Learning capacity in individuals with alcohol-related cognitive impairments.
  • Neurocognitive stimulation in cognitive aging and/or clinical populations.
