The School of Psychology and the Donders Centre for Cognition (DCC) at Radboud University are looking for a Junior Lecturer/PhD Candidate for Neuropsychology. As a Junior Lecturer/PhD candidate you will have both research (60%) and teaching (40%) duties for a 6-year period.
Your teaching will involve various activities in the Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology and the specialisation in Healthcare Psychology of the Master's degree programme in Psychology, with a focus on neuropsychology. Most likely, it will involve 1) tutoring workgroups in the first year of the Bachelor's programme in Psychology, 2) supervision of third-year students in their Bachelor’s degree research project, which should align with the research within the PhD part of the position, 3) supervision of Master’s students' theses within the Master's specialisation in Healthcare Psychology, and 4) lecturing various courses. Whilst holding this position, you will be given the opportunity to obtain your University Teaching Qualification. You will be supervised and will gain a diverse range of teaching experience over the course of the project.
You will enrol in the PhD programme at the DCC and become a member of the Donders Institute Graduate School. The topic of your research will be in the domain of neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology. Because of the strong link between research and teaching in this Junior Lecturer/PhD Candidate position, the central topic of the research project will have to be of interest to our students as you will supervise many students during their Bachelor’s and/or Master’s thesis projects on the same topic. Specifically, the focus in this position will be on one of the following topics (depending on your specific interests):

The School of Psychology offers excellent educational programmes for approximately 1,800 students, including a Bachelor's programme with a yearly inflow of 500 new students. The Master's degree programme in Psychology has three specialisations that prepare students for an academic or professional career: Work, Organisation and Health; Behaviour Change; and Health Care Psychology. The School of Psychology offers two Research Master's programmes: Cognitive Neuroscience (in collaboration with the Donders Institute for Cognition, Brain and Behaviour) and Behavioural Science (in collaboration with the Behavioural Science Institute). We approach education as team science and aim to provide future lecturers with a strong basis in both teaching and research. This special Junior Lecturer/PhD Candidate position is part of this policy.
You will be appointed at the department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology (part of the School of Psychology and the DCC). Its research strongly focuses on the neurocognitive mechanisms of learning and memory, language, understanding and promoting healthy cognitive aging, rare genetic disorders, antisocial behaviour in psychopathy, pain, and epilepsy. The research methods employed combine behavioural studies in healthy individuals and patients with brain disorders with neuroimaging (structural/functional MRI) and neurophysiology (EEG).
Your research will be embedded within the DCC. DCC is one of the four centres of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, and offers excellent research facilities, such as EEG, TMS and motion tracking labs, robotic manipulanda, motion platforms, excellent access to fMRI and other neuroimaging facilities, an in-house technical workshop and close connections with clinical departments.
