Your primary tasks as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer are to co-develop, implement, and coordinate theoretical and practical courses in the field of (Quantitative) Social Science for the curriculum of Erasmus University College Rotterdam. Secondarily, tyou will act as a tutor in various courses in our liberal arts curriculum based on the didactic format of problem-based learning. Finally, you may be called upon to assist in the guidance of small groups for skills labs, the mentoring of students and/or to supervise bachelor theses.
You hold or are completing a PhD in a relevant field of research. You have relevant teaching experience, preferably at least three years. You have excellent communication skills and are highly proficient in the English language (at least C1 level). You are looking forward to become a proactive of a stimulating academic community anchored within EUR. We explicitly encourage international candidates to apply for this position. A track record in teaching and/or research related to (international) development studies, climate change, south-south relations or migration will be considered as an advantage.

The start date of this position is as soon as possible and you will be based at Erasmus University College. The position is for 1 FTE. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension. The teaching load of the role will be 100%. After one year in the position and provided that prerequisites (PhD, strong track record and/or clear potential as a researcher) are met, the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer may apply within EUC for a research voucher. If granted, this voucher will allow the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to free up to 20% of their workload for a period up to two years to focus on research activities. Continuation of such a voucher is dependent on the ability of the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to acquire sufficient external funding.
The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 2.846 to a maximum of € 5.230 gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 10/11 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme.
