This exciting position is part of the DISCMAM project, which is funded by the European Union. The goal of DISCMAM is to develop a secure digital pathway for repair and manufacturing of spare parts in a mission area using metal additive manufacturing technologies. Our aim is to investigate which types of payment structures countries could use for getting access to intellectual property (IP) to manufacture and repair spare parts. In other words, we aim to develop a methodology that will be incorporated in the secure digital pathway, and that enables compensation mechanisms that ensure the IP right holder is willing to share computer-aided design (CAD) files and other info needed to produce their parts on-site in a mission area. The candidate will do so by using methods from Game Theory and Stochastic Operations Research. We strive to achieve both impact in practice and publications in top journals.
Start date: As soon as possible; preference for but not required to start before February 1, 2024.
