We are looking for a program manager in the multidisciplinary field of Circular Safe Hospitals as part of the Institute 4 a Circular Society of the EWUU Alliance.

Job description

As program manager you will be the overarching liaison for cooperation within the EWUU alliance for the Circular Safe Hospitals (CSH) theme. You will be embedded in the Institute 4 a Circular Society (i4CS) team, consisting of passionate and collaborative professionals. You will work closely with the scientific coordinator CSH, the program manager of our other theme ‘Urban-Rural Circularity’ and with the scien-tific director and program director. Because this is a partly pioneering role, it provides opportunities to bring in and realize your own ideas, in consultation with the i4CS team and in alignment with our goals and ambitions.

This role involves the following activities: 

  • Community building by initiating and managing joint platform activities, such as workshops, sandpit sessions, symposia and conferences; 
  • Managing new internal seed funding calls that EWUU provides as to spark new cross-disciplinary projects;
  • Managing the portfolio of ongoing CSH seed grants;
  • Supporting professionals in articulating research questions, approaches, solutions and impact for project proposals or business contracts;
  • Consortium formation connecting EWUU professionals as well as public and private partners outside EWUU to respond to relevant national and international calls for proposals;
  • Supporting or managing the proposal development process of multi- or transdisciplinary pro-jects;
  • Contributing to active dissemination of activities and outcomes throughout the community.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate that meets at least a set of the following characteristics:

  • Is passionate about taking part in the transition towards a healthy, just and circular society;
  • Has built expertise and network in a relevant field (e.g. circularity, sustainable transition pro-cesses, sustainable healthcare);
  • Has excellent organizational, networking, communication and negotiation skills. 
  • Has interest in or knowledge of the barriers to circularity in healthcare and the available strate-gies to overcome these;
  • Is interested in or familiar with the national and European funding landscape and can match opportunities to expertise and research interests;
  • Is interested or experienced in building national or international consortia; 
  • Has good interpersonal skills and is a team player.

The function is for a minimum of 20 hours, but the exact number of hours will be adjusted as needed.

Conditions of employment

  • A salary between € 4678 and € 7232 gross per month (salary scale 11), based on full-time employment (36 hours). Salary is determined based on your background/experience
  • The candidate will be offered a contract for a year after which an evaluation will take place for a extension of at least 2 years.
  • Year-end bonus of 8.3% and holiday allowance of 8%.
  • Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 70% of the monthly contribution.
  • Access to a variety of online courses through GoodHabitz.
  • The option to select additional employment benefits in exchange for gross salary, such as purchasing a bicycle and memberships.

Research Office

If a candidate is selected who already works at one of the four partner institutions, she/he/they will remain employed by that partner. In other cases, UMC Utrecht will be the new employer and the person will be positioned at the Research Office. The Research Office is part of the Directorate Strategy & Policy of the UMC Utrecht and focuses on strategic advice on development, implementation and evaluation of science policy within UMC Utrecht.
