The Informatics Institute at the University of Amsterdam is seeking a dynamic and visionary AI Program Manager to join our team for ICAI, the Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence. ICAI supports ICAI Labs, which are public-private partnerships with the focus on shared ownership for innovation and creating impact with AI. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing a national ecosystem in AI, focused on fostering connections and collaborations among researchers, industry professionals, and governmental and societal organizations. Your technical expertise in data science, computer science, AI, or a related field will empower you to curate and develop AI content that bridges these diverse groups. By organizing impactful events and knowledge exchange sessions, and writing content, you will support and sustain a vibrant network that drives innovation and advances the AI tech landscape in the Netherlands.

What you will do
As the AI Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and nurturing the AI National ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Community Engagement: Engage with the AI community to understand their needs, gather feedback, and continuously improve the quality and impact of our programs both online and offline.
  • Develop and Manage AI Events: Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of AI-focused events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and hackathons together with the event and communications manager.
  • Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: Organize knowledge exchange sessions that bring together researchers, industry experts, and government representatives to share insights and collaborate on AI initiatives.
  • Content Curation: Identify and curate relevant AI content that aligns with the interests and expertise of different groups within our community.
  • Build Connections: Foster strong relationships among academia, industry, and governmental organizations to promote collaborative research and innovation.
  • Write Content: writing small articles and wraps ups of events, develop content posts and connect this with our community via our social channels.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with the ICAI communication manager, project manager, and event manager to ensure seamless execution of events and initiatives.

Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Educational Background: A degree in data science, computer science, AI, or a related field.
  • Knowledge Exchange: Experience in facilitating knowledge exchange and fostering collaboration among diverse groups.
  • Industry Connections: Existing network within the AI community, including academia, industry, and government.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring all goals and deadlines are met.

Our offer
We offer a temporary employment contract for 32 hours per week for a period of 12 months. The preferred starting date is as soon as possible. If we assess your performance positive, your contract will be extended with 24 months.

The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between € 3,226 to € 5,090 (scale 10). This does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% year-end allowance. The UFO profile Project leader 1 is applicable. For this position we can not sponsor a visa. The Collective Labour Agreement of Universities of the Netherlands is applicable.
