Are you an expert in giving didactic advice on the use of these tools in education and do you have experience with them yourself? Then read on quickly because this vacancy is probably something for you!

Job description
One of the important tasks of the University Library (UB) is to train students in searching, finding and critically assessing (digital) scholarly information. Partly because of the rise of AI (including Large Language Models (LLM) such as ChatGPT), digital information skills to be able to find, critically assess and communicate with the right information are becoming increasingly important for students, lecturers and researchers. In this position, you will provide didactic advice on and, together with your teammates, develop "digital literacy and labs", training courses and workshops around digital creation, technology and communication for students. Based on your expertise, you will help to further develop our digital labs and multimedia facilities (including makerspace, video and podcast studio and VR/XR facilities) and also draw up guidelines and policies for the responsible use of these tools and facilities. You give didactic advice on how to create a podcast or a video clip and know how best to use them in teaching or research. In addition to your teammates, you also work closely with colleagues from faculty labs and the CTL (Centre for Teaching & Learning) to ensure the best possible match between the offerings. You keep up with new developments and are able to translate these into our services and user requirements.

You will be engaged in:
  • providing didactic advice on the possibilities of digital tools (a.o. AI/LLM) in a teaching and research environment and in creating podcasts and video clips, learning with VR/XR glasses and designing with 3-D printers;
  • co-developing (online) educational modules and workshops in line with (inter)national developments regarding the use of digital tools (e.g. AI, LLM) and their application in education and research;
  • co-hosting workshops from the offerings in the digital literacy and digital labs education programme;
  • picking up the needs and wishes of our users and matching them to feasible and realistic offerings in collaboration with your teammates and faculty labs;
  • maintaining and building networks with (inter)national colleagues who have similar functions and roles tav digital literacy and labs in coordination with your teammates;
  • contributing to innovation and development based on (inter)national developments.

Requirements
We are looking for you if you want to contribute to services for our students, teachers and researchers. You establish contacts easily, are sensitive to the environment and committed to the needs of our customers. You have good teamwork skills, a practical attitude and strong communication skills. You are good at planning and organising and you are result-oriented. You are good at putting your ideas into practice and are able to enthuse and motivate a group.

Furthermore, you have:
  • a completed Higher education programme, preferably in the field of education and technology or educational science/educational psychology with a technical/digital component;
  • knowledge of and experience with the use of various digital applications (e.g. VR/XR glasses, podcast, video recording studio);
  • experience in developing and delivering workshops/training in digital tools and have related skills;
  • experience in an academic working environment is an advantage;
  • a very good command of Dutch and English (level C1).
