PhD candidate in intracoronary imaging and artificial intelligence

Published Deadline Location
3 Oct 24 Oct Nijmegen

Job description

Are you looking for a PhD trajectory at our team? We are immediately looking for a talented and driven team member with a background in medicine or technical medicine who is interested in cutting-edge medical technologies. Within the interventional cardiology department of Radboudumc, we are motivated to improve patient care through the appliance of new technologies. One of these new technologies is optical coherence tomography (OCT), which allows high-resolution imaging of the coronary arteries from the inside of the artery.

In this PhD trajectory, you will investigate potential applications of this new technology and contribute to the development and testing of artificial intelligence for OCT, so that OCT will become more readily available in the future.

You will work in a large team of PhD candidates across the cardiology department, particularly within the CARA lab. This artificial intelligence lab currently consists of five PhD candidates and is led by four professors from Amsterdam UMC and Radboudumc.

Because this is a diverse lab in terms of backgrounds, everyones strengths can be utilized, and there is much to learn from one another. Additionally, we collaborate closely with a large global network of physicians and researchers with shared objectives.

As a PhD candidate, you will also be closely involved in the clinical application of OCT in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, as well as in education and internship supervision. Physician candidates will also contribute to clinical services, allowing you to simultaneously gain clinical experience at Radboudumc.
