A hybrid computer chip of photonics and electronics. A new manufacturing equipment to fabricate new chips of the future. A quantum key for secure information sharing. At Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) we work on innovative solutions for the world of tomorrow, for the enormous challenges in the field of sustainability, health and digitalization. TU/e distinguishes itself in this through strong collaboration with industry and social partners, especially in the high-tech-oriented Brainport region.
In particular in the field of semiconductors, photonics and quantum technology there is a lot of development. TU/e plays an important role in this and is among the world leaders in research. With, among other things, the Dutch investment of 2.5 billion euros in the microchip sector ('project Beethoven'), a renewed collaboration with ASML and the establishment of the Future Chips Flagship, innovation in chips of the future has a lot of attention within TU/e.
In the midst of all these developments, we are looking for a solid strategic communications advisor with knowledge of branding and marketing communications, to build and realize a solid positioning around this field for TU/e.
Where will you be working? An ambitious university requires an ambitious communications department. The Communication Expertise Center (CEC) of the TU/e is responsible for the development and implementation of the TU/e communication policy and supports the departments, services, flagships and research institutes in this. In order to support the goals and ambitions of the TU/e, CEC focuses on increasing (inter)national brand awareness, strengthening the identity and image of the university and increasing the student intake by using target group-oriented recruitment strategies.
You will be working directly for CEC but you are stationed within the university. To be exact: at the Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute (
EHCI) and the Future Chips Flagship (
FCF). Within these two organizational parts, research into semiconductors, photonics and quantum technology is bundled.
EHCI and FCF need guidance in the field of positioning and branding, as well, as implementation of the strategic communications plan, in addition to their own strategic goals. You will therefore contribute to the positioning and profiling of the organizational units EHCI and FCF, but also to the positioning of the TU/e as a whole in these technical fields. You will therefore work closely with other teams of the CEC, in order to reach the target groups via the right channels.
On a daily basis you will be working closely with scientists and other stakeholders within and outside the university in the field of semiconductors, photonics and quantum technology. You therefore have sufficient experience to find your way in this challenging environment and you are result-oriented in setting up and realizing marketing communications plans.
