Job description Are you a versatile, customer-oriented professional with a talent for multitasking? We are looking for a dedicated Office Assistant to join our team at the UCM Information Point. In this role, you will be the first point of contact at our College’s information desk, providing support and answers to face-to-face inquiries from students, UCM colleagues, UM (teaching) Staff, suppliers and guests. Your friendly, personal approach will help create a welcoming environment for all visitors. Beyond your customer service duties, you will also take pride in participating in diverse educational administrative processes. You will play an essential role in maintaining the high standards of our academic environment by ensuring smooth and efficient operations. A natural affinity for administrative work and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key to thriving in this position.
Key Responsibilities: - Answering all face-to-face questions/ telephone calls and responding to e-mail requests
- Ensuring a personal and warm welcome to everyone visiting the College
- Performing secretarial duties to support our UCM team
- Assisting in and contributing to various administrative processes to support the delivery of high-quality education e.g. the coordination of exams
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Helping out colleagues in peek moments; e.g. organization of community events.
- Working in close collaboration with colleagues at the Information Point, our Department Secretary, the Building Manager and the various offices of UCM.

Qualifications: - A relevant MBO education and work experience
- Strong communication and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Administrative skills and comfort with office software
- Enthusiasm for working in an administrative capacity within an educational setting.
- Good verbal and written language skills in English as well as Dutch.

What we offer
As Office Assistant at Faculty of Science & Engineering, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you: - Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 6 according to UFO profile Management/Office-Assistant 3, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €2872,00 and €3454,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
- An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 1,0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
- At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
