Job description

Do you have a passion for sports and, in particular, for gymnastics? Would you like to teach others and are you able to enthuse a group of fanatical students? Then we at Sports Centre de Bongerd are looking for you!
For our university sports centre, we are looking for a gymnastics coach from 1 February 2025.
Turn trainer

Your job
As gymnastics trainer, you will be partly responsible for providing gymnastics training for the Wageningen Student Gymnastics Association (WSTV) Split (60 members). You will teach together with the head coach on Mondays between 20:00 and 22:00.
A few times a year, you will attend teacher meetings, in-service training, We-Day, AID and/or staff outings outside your regular working hours.

Requirements

You are an active, initiative-taking person, in which the competences customer orientation, cooperation, sociability, coaching, flexibility and enthusiasm play an important role.
You also possess:
  • Degree MO in Physical Education or CIOS, with Turntrainer B, or Turntrainer C;
  • Work experience as a gymnastics trainer (preferred);
  • A good command of the Dutch and English languages is mandatory;
  • Experience in training students (pré).

The Sports Centre de Bongerd (SCB) of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is responsible for the sports programme for students and staff of WUR. A total of 6,500 students and 900 employees actively use the sports centre, which consists of 45 specialised sports teachers, 9 management and administration staff. The CPC has an initiating and active role in the implementation of the Vital@work health programme.

The sports centre is located at the edge of the campus and is the base for the various student sports associations. Due to the large number of international students and staff, the main language of communication on campus is English.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3.218,- and €4.298,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 8). As for your contract, this is a temporary appointment for 12 months initially (1 February 2025 to 1 February 2026). An extension to permanent employment of 3 teaching hours per week is a possibility.
