Context
As researchers, we focus on questions at the intersection of "quality of life" (individual health experiences and leading a meaningful life) and "quality of care" (care that is effective and efficient).
We have developed a model (Subjective Health Experience Model) that provides guidance on the type of information and support individuals need for their (medical) treatment. In clinical practice, we conduct research to further personalize these forms of support and validate the model.
Additionally, we explore how the model can be integrated into health economic analyses in clinical practice. In economic modeling, "expected utility" is a common approach to evaluate the impact of interventions (effectiveness) on the quality of life for healthcare end-users. We investigate the extent to which individual health experiences – "experienced utility" – can enrich the economic model.
This research is linked to the social sciences (health psychology) and economic sciences (Health Technology Assessment, HTA), making it a relevant, dynamic, and challenging field.
What will you do?
Working closely with a small team of experts in health psychology, HTA, and various medical specialties, you will explore alternatives to improve or enhance health economic metrics from clinical practice. These refined ideas will be presented to field experts (e.g., academia, ZIN).
You will also focus on projects to further personalize supportive care and information using the model we have developed, often in clinical practice.
Moreover, you will take the lead in analyzing research data (secondary data analysis) and writing scientific articles in these areas for both international and national journals. We collaborate with an extensive network of universities, government institutions, and hospitals. Work can be conducted from various locations, including remote work.
In short, this is a varied and challenging position.
