Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) and the Foundation Endowed Chair on Standardisation, invites applications for a Part-time (0,5 fte) Endowed Professorship in Standardization Management.
Profile
Standards are crucial for today’s innovative society. Managing standards from a strategic and operational point of view is critical for the successful usage of these standards by organisations and societies. The endowed chair position was established in 1993 and initiated by Royal NEN, the Dutch standardization organization. Since its creation, RSM’s Chair on Standardization has played a forerunner role in developing education and research about standardization. The aim is to continue developing and disseminate knowledge on standardization but to put more emphasis on the managerial relevance and dissemination of knowledge to decision makers in industry and society.
Requirements
The new professor should meet the following requirements:
Expert knowledge in standardization management and from adjacent scientific fields (such as innovation management);
PhD in management and research qualifications in the field of standardization management;
Proven track record of international publications in the field, meeting the requirements for a membership of Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM), and showing the potential to become (or remain) high performing ERIM member;
Teaching qualifications and experience with developing new courses;
Prior experience with PhD student supervision;
Prior experience with obtaining research grants and funding;
Well-connected to the international academic and professional standardization communities and adjacent academic communities;
Well-developed social skills and experience in creating a productive working environment;
Communication skills, experience in public relations;
Network at the business executive level.
Employment Conditions
The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 5,485.00 gross per month and up to a maximum of € 7,072.00 gross per month (scale 15 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
Erasmus University has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a considerate amount of vacation days.
